Sage Hills May 1, 2007

Dave and I had to go into Wenatchee and we decided to combine the trip with a hike. We were going to hike the Twin Peaks trail but, I couldn't remember where the trail started. So, we ended up doing the Sage Hills hike instead. I'm glad we did though because this was the perfect time to hike it. Everything was in full bloom! I was surprised to see how far you could go on this trail. It actually enters PUD land after maybe half a mile and then it goes on for a long time. We had to turn back after we hiked about 3 miles.

Huge fields of field pennycress
Huge fields of Field Pennycress along parts of this trail.

Fragrant Lupine
Lupine was in bloom everywhere and so fragrant it was intoxicating!

Lupine and Balsamroot
There was also a lot of balsamroot in bloom and the combinations made for a wonderful color palette.

Green Fields Everywhere
There were miles of green fields everywhere you looked. Wenatchee at it's best!
